Recommendations for Increasing Strength and Losing Flab Fast
April 9, 2009
When we want to build muscle and keep fit, a lot of us find that it is hard to achieve due to lack of proper instruction or lack of will power. Results of working out can also sometimes be slow, which is why many people quit within just a few short weeks.
Most of us want to learn how to build muscle quick, which means we need to use good guides to tell us which body areas and muscles to focus on. One of the biggest mistakes people make when trying to build muscle is to imitate professional bodybuilders. They train extremely hard and for long hours, which is not the best method if you are just starting out.
A good place to start increasing strength and building muscle is by weight lifting. This way you can start as light as you need to and increase the weights as your strength and muscle builds. Dips, Pull-ups, Pistols and Push-ups are a good place to begin, so long as you maintain proper technique during the exercises.
To replicate natural motion during exercise it is recommended you use free weights. A lot of people jump straight for a home gym and exercise machines as soon as they decide to get in shape. Some machines may have you exercising using unnatural movements, which may hinder results and can even cause injury. Despite what many people think, there are in fact hundreds of exercises that can be performed by just using a barbell, so a lot of the time there is no need to pay for expensive equipment.
One of the best exercises for training the whole body is doing squats (tip courtesy of Sitevines social media directory). By squatting with free weights, with hips coming lower than the knees, muscles across the whole body tense and work.
Another big mistake by people that are eager to get in shape is to overtrain. Pro bodybuilders will train 5-6 times per week, but they wouldn’t have started with that kind of routine. Your muscles grow when you rest. Focus on 3 intense workouts per week, but also drink plenty of water, eat whole foods, and get plenty of sleep. The best way to lose stomach fat is by training well but also eating whole foods too.
