My New Ugg Boot Friends
June 26, 2009
Last year I did it. I finally ordered myself a brand new pair of Ugg Boots. I’m not your typical female who loves to doll up, wear heels, and dresses up all the time, I’m the one who is usually walking around in a pair of tight blue jeans. Last year I took a trip to visit my friend in college and found these great pair of boots in her closet.
What makes Ugg brand boots unique is how light they are. It’s like being barefoot but with comfort and protection. The outer skin is actually sheepskin and it’s a kind of suede feeling, yet it has better thermal properties than suede does, so it keeps your feet warmer than traditional leather. The bottom soles are this unique flexible rubber that is also very light in weight.
Since me and my friend wear the same size shoe, she let me wear them out one night, right over my jeans. A beautiful floral print top and I was feeling good. What impressed me the most was the comfort of these boots. The following morning, I put them back on, wrote her a check and told her to go get herself another pair.
If you can picture this, me and my friend, both pulling on each end of one of the boots until she falls back after I let go. This prompted a friendly punch to my arm. After we made ourselves cry laughing over how stupid this was, I got on her laptop and ordered the same exact pair as hers. This should end our fighting. It’s great too that we can wear the same boots out together, and since they go with anything, no one will notice because the rest of our clothes will be so different.
That was over a year ago, and we still talk about that little competition we had that day over a pair of boots. We still we our boots too. It was Linda that first showed me these boots, and now I’m a loyal fan and customer. And if they keep making and selling them, I’ll continue to buy. The Internet has really saved us, there isn’t anywhere in town where I can get them, but online there’s hundreds of stores that sell them, I can get Uggs for cheap. To the computer I go, to put my credit card to more good uses.
